Wow!!!! These are amazing! Thanks for sending me
the link. I had no idea that
Katie was so talented. I knew about the faux
finishes, but not the painting.

Hey, your baby's got talent -- a whole lot of
it. I couldn't help
wondering if she lay on her back au Michelangelo
to do Look Up and Sunset
over Jordan Street. I'm going to try to catch
Spiers open so I can really
see them. What a girl --
master carpenter, faux
finisher and now fine artiste; she gonna go
places.

Subject : projects
Katie and I worked together this past summer,
planning several painting projects. I gave her
my general ideas and she came back quickly with
samples and drawings. She used a barn red to
paint a large area that included a rather
challenging wall, and the finished product drove
us to use the color in more places. Next, we
planned two faux jobs, in a bedroom and a small
bathroom. I am thrilled with both! I suggested
sunflowers for the bathroom, and she created a
trompe-a-loeil, reminiscent of fields in
Provence, France. Our summer project also
included several pieces of furniture and again, I
suggested color and she came up with the perfect
look to go with the rooms. She absolutely
understands my taste and fear of too much
whimsy!
This winter she took on the project of painting
our dining room that involved working with my
very particular husband. He wanted a
Renaissance-type of ceiling, with cupids and
clouds. and Katie came through! The walls of the
room are a golden faux-finish yellow with
layers of blue and clouds and the requisite
cupids on the ceiling. We couldn't be happier.
Working with Katie really is a collaboration.
She respects the tastes of her clients and she
delivers in a timely fashion.
